Out and About North East CIC is dedicated to providing resources and support for individuals in the North East of England who are dealing with anxiety, depression, loneliness, isolation, mental health challenges, disability, and neurodivergence. Resources and Support
If you're feeling anxious, isolated, or are navigating challenges with your mental health, you're not alone. Here you'll find a curated list of resources, from immediate help to long-term support, specifically tailored for people in the North East of England. We've included information on general mental health, as well as resources for those with disabilities and who are neurodivergent.

Immediate Help and Crisis Support
- NHS 111 (Mental Health Option): For urgent support, you can call NHS 111 and select the mental health option. This service is available 24/7.
- Mental Health Crisis Text Service: Text 'CALMER' to 85258 for free, confidential, 24/7 text support if you are struggling to cope. This service is for anyone in the North East and North Cumbria region.
- Samaritans: Call 116 123 for free, 24/7 confidential support. You can talk to them about anything that's on your mind.
- Mind: A leading mental health charity that offers information, advice, and support. Their website has a wealth of information and a local Mind finder.

Talking Therapies and Counselling
- NHS Talking Therapies: You can refer yourself for free NHS talking therapies (also known as IAPT services) for anxiety and depression. Search online for "NHS Talking Therapies [Your North East local area]" to find your local service.
- North East Counselling Services: An organisation that offers affordable private counselling for a range of issues, including anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem.

Neurodiversity and Disability Support
- The Toby Henderson Trust (TTHT): An independently funded charity supporting autistic children, young people, and adults, their families, and carers in the North East.
- Children North East (for young people): Offers a range of support for young people with a neurodivergence, including peer support groups, one-to-one counselling, and mentoring.
- Daisy Chain Project: Provides a national autism support helpline as well as local services.
- Inclusion North: A charity working to make life better for people with a learning disability and their families.
