About Out And About North East CIC
Out And About North East CIC is a dedicated, neurodivergent-friendly community providing safe, inclusive drop-in sessions and social outings across the North East, actively tackling isolation and loneliness to help people chat, connect, build meaningful friendships, and improve their mental well-being.
What makes us different?
​We are Out And About North East CIC, a dedicated, neurodivergent-friendly community based in South Tyneside and run entirely by passionate volunteers. We are proud to be a truly inclusive space for all genders and generations—with current members ranging from 16 right up to 86!
​We combat isolation by listening to our community. From regular drop-in sessions to social outings, we organize the specific activities and days out that our members ask for. This ensures everyone, regardless of age or background, can connect and build lasting friendships in a way that suits them. We are open to all adults (16+), and while we keep our services free or low-cost, some member-requested days out may require a small contribution.
Who we help
​Our community support is dedicated to the most isolated residents of the North East, including individuals of all ages experiencing loneliness, those managing mental health challenges, members of the neurodivergent community, and people facing barriers to social activity. By engaging with Out And About North East CIC, members are empowered to combat their anxiety, loneliness, and isolation. Our safe, inclusive spaces encourage them to get out and about, be more active, and find vital connections in the community, directly leading to an improvement in their overall mental well-being.
