OAA Our Story: From a Small Idea to a Community Family! When we first started, we were just a few people with a simple idea. We wanted to create a place where nobody had to feel alone. We have always been completely volunteer led, and we knew it would take a lot of time, patience, and hard work to get things moving.
It was just about wanting to help people connect and feel like they belonged somewhere.
βLooking back at where we started compared to where we are now is honestly inspiring. September 2025 we officially registered as a CIC (Community Interest Company) Those small, early steps of just reaching out to people have grown into something so much bigger. We have turned that tiny seed of an idea into a real community family.
βIt hasn’t always been easy, but every bit of effort has been worth it to see the change in the people who come through our doors. We have moved from a group of strangers to a support network for people dealing with isolation and loneliness. Seeing how much we have grown, and how many lives have been touched, makes us so proud of how far we have come.
βWe want to say a huge thank you to everyone who helped us at the beginning. We would never be where we are without you. You certainly know who you are! Thank you for believing in us and for sticking with us as we grew into the family we are today! We will continue moving upwards.
Thankyou!!!!
-Nat, Sue, Becks and our wonderful volunteers β€οΈ.
