Incredible Community Response for Our Boldon Neighbor!

We are overwhelmed by your kindness. Thanks to the rapid response from this amazing community, we have made significant progress in keeping a vulnerable resident safe.

Huge News & Thank Yous

A massive thank you to Sharnie Bagley, who has incredibly paid for a hotel for a few nights. This ensures our neighbor is out of the cold while we address the dangerous damp and electrical issues at their home.

Jules Walden Jarrow Mindset for their warm pack donation!

We also want to thank those who have stepped up to foster the pets during this stay. This support is life-changing for someone dealing with chronic health issues and mental health vulnerabilities during these freezing winter months.

How You Can Still Help

While the immediate crisis is paused, the house remains uninhabitable and dangerous. We need to bridge the gap until a permanent solution is found. We are still seeking:

Hotel Fund Contributions: Donations to help extend the hotel stay beyond the first few nights.

Essential Supplies: Food for the resident and their pets (dogs and cats).

Winter Warmth Items: For when they eventually return home, we still need blankets, thermal flasks, and battery-powered lighting.

Trade Support: If you have expertise in electrics or damp proofing and can offer advice or help, please reach out.

Collection & Contact Details

Becks and Nat will be out tomorrow to collect donations from everyone who has already contacted us.

If you can contribute further—whether it's a donation toward the hotel stay, food, or winter gear—please contact us directly:

Let’s keep this momentum going. Boldon truly looks after its own! ❤️

10th January 2026 Community Update

Hi everyone, it’s Becks and Nat at OAA (Out and About North East CIC).

We want to say a huge thank you for the overwhelming support we’ve received. We are especially grateful to Sharnie Bagley and her Mum, who have shown incredible kindness by personally donating and extending the emergency accommodation to keep this person safe until Monday.

A massive thank you also goes to Boldon Village Hall for their kindness and donations, and to Jules Walden at Jarrow Mindset for the warm packs. We are also so touched by the members of the public who have gone out and purchased food, prepared meals, and provided warm bedding and clothing.

The Final Step

While we now have enough clothing and bedding, the last part of the process is getting the property fit for them and their animals to move back into. We need to raise £2,700 for essential repairs to the:

Gas

Electric

Heating

Once these repairs are complete, the home will be safe, warm, and livable. We’re asking for one last push to hit this target so we can get them settled back home permanently.

How you can help:

Donate/Share: Please use the GoFundMe link to help us reach the repair goal.

Food & Pet Donations: we still need food for the individual and their cat and dog.

Drop-off Location: Jarrow Mindset, 78 Ellison St, Jarrow NE32 3JX.

Drop-off Time: This Monday, between 12pm and 4pm.

Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts for looking out for our community.
