Meet the Team at Out & About Northeast CIC!
Hello and welcome! We are the proud team behind OAA. Whether we are planning our next big get-together or just keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes, we are all about creating a welcoming, fun, and supportive community.
Sue
Admin
Hi everyone, I'm Sue. My journey with Out and About North East CIC started as a member, and our mission led me to become an Admin. To me, OAA isn't just a group; it’s a community that celebrates diversity in every form. We specialize in creating spaces where everyone can truly be themselves. I’m proud to help run a CIC that focuses on connection, acceptance, and ensuring that no one feels left out
Naddie
Co-Founder/Admin
Hi, I'm Nat! Welcome to Out and About. For me, this is so much more than just a group—it's a true community, a safe haven, and a vital support network. Navigating mental health challenges or just trying to find a place where you belong can be really tough, and I strongly believe that absolutely nobody should have to do it alone. As one of your Admins, my heart goes into making sure every single person who joins us feels seen, understood, and entirely safe to just be exactly who they are. Whether you're having a great day, or a hard day and just need a welcoming space without any judgment, we are here for you. We're all in this together, supporting each other through the ups and downs. Welcome to our community!
Beck
Co-Founder/Admin
Hi, I'm Becks! As one of the Admins here at Out and About, I work behind the scenes and right in the middle of the action to make sure our community runs smoothly. I'm incredibly passionate about bringing people together and making sure every single person who walks through our doors feels valued, heard, and supported. Whether I'm helping to organize an upcoming event or just having a friendly chat, I love seeing the positive impact this group has on all of us.
Meet Our Volunteers
We simply couldn't do what we do without our amazing volunteer team! The best part about our volunteers is that many of them started out just like you—as regular members. They came along, loved the community and what we do, and decided to step up and help make the magic happen. They are an absolute credit to OAA.
Mel
Volunteer
Hi, my name is Melissa! I'm 32 and neurodivergent. I volunteer with OAA because I truly believe in this community and see just how much it means to everyone involved. I'm passionate about helping the organization grow and thrive, while ensuring everyone feels connected, safe, and included. I love showing kindness, building people's confidence, and helping them achieve their goals. I'm also deeply committed to breaking down stigmas and stereotypes around neurodivergence i don't believe in putting people in boxes or using labels!
Jodie
Volunteer
Hi, my name is Jodie and I am 41. Alongside my paid work and volunteering at Your Voice Counts, I'm thrilled to be a volunteer here! I have lived experience with a learning disability and dyslexia, and I absolutely love using my own experiences to help and support others. Seeing people thrive and being able to give back to the community brings a huge smile to my face!
Louii
Volunteer
Hi, I'm Louii! I'm 36, and as someone who is neurodivergent and navigates mental health challenges, I bring a lot of personal understanding to my role here. I volunteer at Out and About because I want to help people with disabilities like myself feel truly included and supported. I'm here to lend a listening ear to anyone who might be struggling, connect with new members to ensure they feel a warm welcome, and gain valuable experience and new skills along the way.
Karen
Volunteer
Hi, I'm Karen, and I am a Volunteer here at OAA! I absolutely love helping people and giving back to the community, which is why I also volunteer at another fantastic charity alongside OAA. Family means the world to me, and I have a beautiful family that I love dearly. (Oh, and my absolute favorite color is pink!) Being part of OAA has been amazing for my mental health, and it has been a wonderful place to make so many great friends.
Meet Our Helpers
We believe absolutely anyone can get involved with OAA. While our regular volunteers take on more structured, behind-the-scenes roles, our Helpers pitch in whenever and however they want—completely on their own terms.
There is no pressure and no set commitment. Being a Helper is simply about being part of the community and lending a hand in a way that works perfectly for them. We are so grateful for every bit of support they bring to OAA.
Gabrielle
Helper
Hi, my name is Gabrielle! I am a Helper at OAA. I love being a part of the group and helping to tidy up. The best part about being here is that I have made a lot of great friends. I also absolutely love cats! I help out and volunteer at the local cat center, and I have my very own cat named Fluffy, who is 14 years old.
Jonsey
Helper
Hi, I'm Jonesy, and I am an OAA Helper! I absolutely love anything to do with transport especially buses, trains, and going on the Metro. When I'm not out and about, I really enjoy building my own custom trains out of LEGO. I love to have a laugh and sometimes be silly that's just part of my cheeky personality!
Lee
Helper
Hi, I'm Lee, and I am a Helper at OAA! I absolutely love being part of the crew and getting involved wherever I can. Even when I'm facing my own struggles, I always like to keep a big smile on my face, and I am always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needs it.
