Welcome to the OAA Drop-In
Whether you’re looking for a friendly chat, a place to make new friends, or just a quiet corner to relax, our doors are open.
At Out and About North East (OAA), our goal is to help people feel a little less alone. We know how tough it can be to navigate isolation or mental health challenges, so we built a supportive, non-judgmental community where everyone is genuinely welcome.
Our drop-in is a completely safe space designed for anyone who is feeling lonely or dealing with their mental health. The environment is thoughtfully created to be neurodivergent-friendly—it's a place where you can drop in on our open days, take off the mask, hang out, and just be yourself.
For a £1.50 entry fee, you can enjoy unlimited tea, coffee, biscuits, and snacks
we also have various activities, discussions, workshops and day trips
Our drop-in sessions are for anyone aged 16 and over. Come exactly as you are—we can't wait to welcome you!

Sunday (OAA Adult Sports)
• Time: 1:00 PM – 3:00 PM @ Bilton Hall
• Cost: £5 (cash please)
• Details: Football & fun games! Fully disability-friendly and at your own pace (walk, crawl, or just have a laugh). Rain or shine, bring a brolly. Let us know if you're coming! This is on ever last sunday kf each month !! If becomes popular we will add more
Monday (CAST Family Fun Day - Bank Holiday)
• Time: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM @ Bilton Hall
• Cost: FREE fantastic family fun days!!
• Details: This is the absolute last one of the summer! Please note there is no regular Monday drop-in today due to the Bank Holiday.
*OAA Camping Trip
Cost: £10 per person (cash to the next drop-in).
• Status: Fully booked!
Fortnightly Dog Walk (New!)
• Date: Starts Saturday, 12th September
• Time: 12:00 PM
• Location: Meeting outside The Dunes, South Shields
• Details: This will now run every fortnight, so bring your pups and join us! OR JOIM JUST FOR THE WALK
OAA Bowling
• Date: Saturday, 19th September
• Time: 1:00 PM
• Location: The Dunes, South Shields
• Details: Join us for bowling with OAA, followed by food together afterwards for anyone who wants to stay.
October & Halloween Events
• Saturday, 3rd October: Regular OAA Drop-In from 3:30 PM to 6:30 PM, followed by the Halloween "Psychopath" event until 11:00 PM for those who have their tickets!
• Saturday, 17th October: OAA Halloween Fancy Dress Party from 12:00 PM – 4:30 PM. Cost is £5 (must be paid by Friday the day before at the latest).
